Experience

I am a novice-level mover whose organized 6-7 jobs myself, start to finish. I am still learning about different techniques and moving methods at every new job I work at. I do the moving work myself with 1+ employees with the aid of Uhaul or Home Depot rented vehicles.

I am also a novice-level furniture assembler/installer with a few assemblies completed. I am learning about different types of furniture at every new task I complete. I do the work myself (no sub-contracts).

For moving work, contact me through my contact form or phone number to ask any questions and/or to arrange a property visit to receive an estimate. I will provide a quote in writing (email or text) after seeing the scope of work and doing a bit of research.

For furniture assembly/installation work, I may be able to provide a quote if you provide pictures and model #s of the items in question, so that I can do a bit of research.

Scheduling

If you book me for the day, I will show up on that day. Truck availability is a wild card. If I'm late picking it up, it becomes a scramble finding a replacement truck. Alternatively,

I will base my moving quote that I provide you on the following calculation (I estimate labor time based on what I think is necessary to do a good job in my opinion)

Pricing model (moving)

I

I will base my moving quote that I provide you on the following calculation (I estimate labor time based on what I think is necessary to do a good job in my opinion)

- hourly rate of $35/hr for all labor and commute time that I spend (driving to and from your home, picking up my employee and dropping them off, labor time, time required to go and book a uhaul and travel to and from the uhaul location)

- hourly rate of $25/hr for all labor and commute time spent by employee (driving to and from their home to your property, completing everything and dropping them off)

- the cost of perishable supplies (a few dollars for cling wrap or boxes if you need those purchased and delivered) + part of the cost for any tools required for the work (if additional blankets, dollies, etc are needed, I may bill part of the cost of the tools)

- the cost of the uhaul (I will rent the truck from a location close to my home the day before and park it, so that it's 100% available for the following day; you will pay for 2 days of uhaul truck rental (approximately $120 after taxes - daily rental plus insurance) plus the full mileage and gas on the truck (that'll depend on your location and the start and end points)

Pricing (furniture assembly unrelated to moving)

I will try and provide a quote over the phone if pictures and furniture model numbers and brand names are provided (I'll look up the instructions). I base my quote on an estimate of how many hours it'll take to complete the assembly plus time spent commuting. My hourly rate here is $20/hr.
