Choosing the right softscaping for your property
-
A plant's sunlight, water, and soil texture requirements are the main considerations to take when deciding on which plants to install. A hosta will burn in full sun, a rose will never bloom in full shade. Any type of grass seed will never grow in a lush way with less than 4 hours of sunlight daily, and if there is some growth, it's minimal and will be subject to dying off year over year. Trees do not survive in clay soil. Some plants do not grow well in soils that are not nutrient rich. Grass requires water, a lot of it, and frequently, or it won't grow. When installing softscaping, consider the site and whether it'll support that plant and your own availability in terms of maintenance.
