Downspout Repair

Downspout Water Flow Redirect

Notes about setting up downspouts

  • Downspouts should be set up in a way to avoid leaks in between connected pieces. In order to do that a small downspout has to slide into a large piece. In order to do that the edges need to be crimped (or bent slightly) in order to fit into the large piece of downspout pipe. A crimping tool helps (I used needle-nose pliers here). The pipe needs to be connected at a downward angle in order to allow for the downward flow of water, so that water and debris that lands in the eavestroughs is always being cleared out of the pipes.
