Ikea-style furniture setup challenges

1) 2 people: it helps to have a second person to bounce ideas off, for moral support, and to hold certain furniture components in place while you install others
2) its important to review everything you can about a furniture set online and comparing that information to instruction sets provided along with the furniture itself. Assembly instructions may be unhelpful or wrong in some cases, and they are basically your lifeline to building items correctly.
3) use a manual screwdriver and go slowly. These products are often made of very sensitive material and you have to work slowly and carefully to avoid mistakes and unnecessary damage.

Kitchen cabinet base installation/repair notes

In this project, I measured and cut out a section of plywood to slide on top of the existing rotting cabinet. The biggest challenge here was to place wood in places to support the new bottom. I was barely able to do it, but the new cabinet bottom was able to support weight. Measuring was somewhat frustrating and mistakes were made which created gaps. An oscillating saw and jigsaw helped to make cuts to the cabinet base that, though not entirely straight, were good enough to get the job done.
